Notes about murk klazes de jong

M.Groen: In 1830 had de familie Boontje te Gorredijk een schuur en werf. De schuur werd "voor de landbouw" gebruikt. Maar scheepstimmerman Marten Thomas Boontje woonde waarschijnlijk weer in Oldeboorn, toen hij in 1861 een huis bouwde op D15. In 1864 verbouwde Murk Klazes de Jong de oude werf en scheepstimmerschuur. Marten Thomas was toen nog aanwezig, want die stichtte in 1868 nog een huis, nu op D477. In 1884 vindt men Murk op nr. E504 (nr.41). In 1912 maakte hij van 174 een kantoor. Gebruiker was toen zijn zoon Marten Thomas. In 1914 woonde Murk op nr. 173; toen stond de timmerschuur op nr. 174 en woonde Marten Thomas op nr. 175. Marten Thomas liet in 1924 een schuurtje bijbouwen op nr. 174.
Op 16-09-1876 werd Murk bewindvoerder over goederen etc. van zijn zwager Sjouke Martens Boontje. Hij was timmerman aan de Wjitteringswei 36 te Oldeboorn. Tevens was hij wethouder. In de Friesche Volksalmanak van 1887 wordt hij genoemd als vinder van een urn in een terp bij Spannum
