    Gerard II van Hochstaden, ook bekend als Gerardus de Wyckerode, ovl. 1137, Vermeld 1118/37, als von Wickrath 1094/1139. In 1118 wordt hij als bezitter van Wickrath vermeld, tegenwoordig een wijk van Mönchengladbach. Hij is door erfenis in het bezit van de burcht en de plaats Wickrath gekomen en noemt zich Gerardus de Wyckerode. Vanaf 1118 zijn de Hostaden burchtheren van Wickrath ofwel Wickerode.
