    Lodewijk V de Doeniet (van het Franse "le Fainéant") (966 of 967 - 21 mei 987), was de oudste zoon van Lotharius van Frankrijk en Emma van Italië. Hij regeerde van 986 tot 987 en zou uiteindelijk de laatste Karolingische koning van West-Francië (Frankrijk) blijken te zijn.
    Biografie

    Hij was een zwakke koning, deels toe schrijven aan zijn jeugdige leeftijd en onervarenheid, maar evenzeer omdat hij geconfronteerd werd met de groeiende anti-karolingische beweging, geleid door Hugo Capet.

    Zijn bijnaam verwijst echter niet naar zwakte omwille van een luie geaardheid maar naar het feit dat hij, in die korte regeerperiode, niets betekenisvol heeft verwezenlijkt.
    Huwelijk

    Lodewijk was in 982 gehuwd met Adelaide-Blanche van Anjou (947-1026), dochter van graaf Fulco II van Anjou, maar scheidde al na twee jaar van haar.
    Eindpunt

    Met hem stierf ook de Karolingische dynastie uit. Slechts Karel van Neder-Lotharingen (953 - 992) en Otto II van Neder-Lotharingen (970 - 1012) zouden hem als laatste Karolingers overleven.
