    La famille normande des Crépon, originaire du Calvados, est issue de différents lignages scandinaves qui appartient à la noblesse danoise, norvégienne, et suédoise.
    Origines et histoire

    À l'origine de la famille se trouve un certain Roricon de Crépon (né vers 870), jarl venu du Danemark et fixé dans le duché de Normandie, qui devient le 1er seigneur de Crépon. Son fils Rainulf de Crépon, né vers 900, épouse la princesse Gunnor du Danemark. La concubine du duc Richard Sans-Peur, Gunnor de Crépon, fille de Herbast de Crépon et petite-fille de Rainulf, devient duchesse de Normandie. Guillaume Fils-Osbern, de la famille Crépon, ami le plus fidèle du duc Guillaume Le Bâtard, l'accompagne en Angleterre et combat à Hastings (1066) – il y commande l'aile gauche. Il est tué à Cassel en 1071. Son fils, Roger de Breteuil, comte d'Hereford, se révolte contre le Conquérant en 1075 avec d'autres barons anglo-normands.
