    Tukulti-Ninurta II was koning van Assyrië van 891 v.Chr. - 884 v.Chr..
    Hij erfde een duidelijk verstevigd en vergroot koninkrijk van zijn vader Adad-nirari II en een vredesvrdrag met Babylon. In zijn vrij korte tijd op de troon verstevigde hij verder de grip van het Assyrische hof op de Arameese vazalkoningen in het door zijn vader onderworpen gebied in het zuidwesten. Hij trekt er rond om schatting af te dwingen. De gezagsuitbreiding van zijn vader kreeg daarmee een permanent karakter. Hij herbouwde de muren van Assur. Hij werd opgevolgd door zijn zoon Assurnasirpal II.

    Tukulti-Ninurta II was King of Assyria from 891 BC to 884 BC. He was the second king of the Neo Assyrian Empire.
    Family

    His father was Adad-nirari II, the second king of the Neo-Assyrian period. His son succeeded him and was named Ashurnasirpal II. He consolidated the gains made by his father over the neo Hittites, Babylonians and Arameans, and successfully campaigned in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, subjugating the newly arrived Iranic peoples of the area, the Persians and Medes, during his brief reign.
