    Ulrich I van Weimar (ca. 1025 - 6 maart 1069/1070) was de enige zoon van Poppo I van Weimar en van Hadamut van Friaul, dochter van graaf Werigand van Istrië. In 1045 erfde hij bezittingen uit het graafschap Ebersberg. Hij was sinds ca. 1050 markgraaf van Krain, sinds ca. 1060 markgraaf van Istrië en breidde die gebieden uit naar het zuid-oosten tot aan Fiume, waardoor hij in conflict kwam met de patriarch van Aquileia en met Venetië. Hij maakte echter ook aanspraak op de bezittingen in Thüringen van zijn oom Otto I van Weimar en in 1067 werd hij ook graaf van Weimar. Ulrich was een trouwe vazal van de keizerlijke familie.
