  Priapitius of Priapatius was koning van de Parthen van 191 v.Chr. tot 176 v.Chr..
  
  Toen Priapitius aan de macht kwam, was er niet veel van Parthië over na de overwinningen die de Seleucidische koning Antiochus III de Grote had behaald op Arsaces II. Als gevolg van Antiochus' nederlaag in de Slag bij Magnesia (190 v.Chr.), was hij echter gedwongen zijn troepen terug te trekken uit Parthië. Priapitius heroverde daarop grote delen van Parthië en wellicht ook van Bactrië.
  
  Over Priapitius is door historici uit de Oudheid niet veel geschreven. Uit gevonden ostraca blijkt echter dat latere generaties Parthen hem als een belangrijk vorst beschouwden.
  
  Drie van Priapitius' zonen zouden koning van de Parthen worden: Phraates I, Mithridates I en Artabanus I. De naam van Priapitius' vierde zoon is niet bekend, maar deze was de vader van de latere koning Gotarzes I. Ook drie andere kleinkinderen van Priapitius zouden later het koningschap bekleden.

  Phriapatius (Persian: ???????) pron.: /?fra??'pe???s/) or Priapatius (pron.: /?pra??'pe???s/), sometimes called Phriapites (pron.: /?fra?'æp?ti?z/), ruled the Parthian Empire from 191 BC to 176 BC. He was the grandson of Tiridates I of Parthia (246–211 BC), the brother of Arsaces I of Parthia (250–211 BC), the founder of the Parthian Empire.
  
  He ruled in the period following the invasion of Parthia by the Seleucid king Antiochus III (223–187 BC).
  
  He was the father of three Parthian kings, Phraates I (176–171 BC), who was his successor, Mithridates I (171–138 BC), and Artabanus I (138–124 BC).
