    Koning Chlothar IV (? - 719) regering: (717 - 719) was de zoon van koning Theuderik III. Hij was koning van Neustrië. Chlothar IV stond op tegen zijn vader. De hofmeier Karel Martel regeerde in zijn naam en versloeg in 732 de Moren bij Tours en Poitiers. Voorts streed Karel Martel met succes tegen de Beieren, Saksen, Friezen , Alemannen en Aquitaniërs. "Koning" Chlothar IV zat op de troon maar was de marionet van de kordate en met harde hand regerende hofmeier.
