Notes about Geert Geertsen Backx

De eerste kinderen werden te Wouw gedoopt, de overige te Halsteren. De familie woonde eerst op het Noorteijnt van Heerle in de zogenaamde Poorterij van Bergen op Zoom, later verhuisden ze naar Halsteren. Na de dood van hun ouders werd Pieter Jan Brosius op 6.2.1705 door de Magistraat van de Heerlijkheid Halsteren als voogd over de kinderen aangesteld. De roerende goederen, de paarden enz, landbouwgereeedschappen enz werden verkocht en het land onder Moerstraten werd verpacht. De minderjarige kinderen werden bij verschillende families ondergebracht. De rekeningen erven lopen door tot 5.4.1718.
