Op 23 augustus 1736 trouwden voor het gerecht te Oude Tonge Willem Helmonds Vroon en Anthonetta Buijs. Hun huwelijk was in Oude Tonge en Oudenbosch aangekondigd. Het paar kreeg twee kinderen: Joanna Sibilla, gedoopt op 16-02-1737 te Oude Tonge, getuigen Lambertus Buijs en Joanna Vroon, en Catharina Sibilla, gedoopt op 17-07-1738 te Oudenbosch, getuigen Adolphus Vroijn en Adriana Smolders.

De zoektocht naar Anthonetta Buijs zou snel gestaakt zijn – beide kinderen zijn jong overleden - , ware het niet dat Anthonetta ongehuwd – Willem Vroon zal overleden zijn – een zoon kreeg van Christiaan van Dongen. Deze zoon is geboren onder Ooltgensplaat, wellicht in Achthuizen of De Langstraat, en gedoopt te Oude Tonge op 24-09-1741. Zijn naam is Lambertus. Illegitimus staat er in de doopaantekening. Zijn achternaam zal dus geen Van Dongen zijn, maar Buijs. Een van de twee doopgetuigen is Godefridus Buijs.

Met deze gegevens zochten we de site op van Hans den Braber: Oudenbossche families. De familie Buijs was snel gevonden, de naam iets anders gespeld: Buys. We vonden een huwelijk van Lambertus Pieters Buys en Adriana Thomas Smolders op 2 december 1708 te Oudenbosch. In hun kinderrijtje stonden Godefridus, de oudste, gedoopt in Waspik, en verder nog vier andere kinderen, allen gedoopt In Oudenbosch. De moeder van Lambertus Buys heette Antonetta, en daarom leek het ons aannemelijk dat er ook een dochter moest zijn met die naam, gezien het gebruik van vernoeming. Deze dochter kon, niet in Oudenbosch gedoopt, ontsnapt zijn aan de aandacht van Hans den Braber. Daarom naar de online-doopboeken van Waspik, en naar Anthonetta gezocht vanaf 1708, het huwelijksjaar van haar waarschijnlijke ouders. En ja hoor, daar vonden we haar, gedoopt als Antonia op 29-08-1709.

Van Anthonetta en Christiaan van Dongen hebben we in ons bestand 105 nakomelingen, verdeeld over zeven generaties. Allen stammen af van Anthonetta’s dochter Sibilla. Daarom zal men onder haar nazaten de naam Buijs niet meer tegenkomen, wel De Ruijter, Laauwe, Tanis, Missel, Rijnbrand, Westhoeve, Emaus, Breen, Van ’t Hof, Hameeteman en Sperling.
