Rijpke woonde eerst te Ulrum en daarna vanaf ca. 1704 op Klein Maarhuizen, bij den dijk te Vierhuizen, op de plaats in 1843 bewoond door Jan Klaassens Loots. Hij komt in het zijlvestersboek van Houwerzijl, den 2 mei 1702, het eerst voor als zijlrichter van Ulrum, alsmede in het jaar 1725, en het laatst den 1 september 1738, als zijlrichter van de Houw. Hij was in 1725-1730 ouderling te Vierhuizen en leefde nog in 1756.
