Nan deed de Handelsschool in Amsterdam en trad in dienst van De Nederlandse Zachthout Bond als secretaresse. Zij maakte een schitterende cariere daar en pensioeneerde in 1977 als Secretaris (een van de drie aan de top). Ze was zeer gezien bij all haar buss. relaties, vrienden en kenissen.
Nan deed een heleboel goed in de WWII en was gwaardeerd met een medaille. ze kreeg ook de Orde van de Ned. Leeuw.
Nan leefde haar hele leven in Amsterdam in verschillende appartementen. Ze trouwde nooit maar had verschillende langdurende relaties. Op ongeveer 75jaar ging ze samenwonen met een vriend /buss. relatie die haar all het hof maakte omstreeks 1948.
