Notes about Jeanvieux Albert

Op 16.6.1625 en 10.12.1648 wordt Jean Albert vermeld op 'Moulin-sous-Fleron'. Twee dagen voor zijn overlijden redigeerde hij op 2.2.1664 samen met zijn vrouw Anne een testament. Moulin-sous-Fleron is een gehucht gelegen tussen Fleron en Jupille, drie kilometer ten noorden van Luik langs de grote weg naar Maastricht. Het gehucht is de bakermat van de door Guerin beschreven familie Albert. In vroegere tijden heeft er een (water)molen gestaan, waarvan de ouderdom gevolgd kan worden tot 1476. Ze wordt in een document van dat jaar als 'molin des malades'aangeduid. Met die molen is de familie Albert generaties lang verbonden geweest. In de jaren 1625 1648 wordt genoemde Jean, de oudste zoon van stamvader Henri Albert vermeld als bewoner van de molen. Later, in 1781, wordt het bedrijf zelfs naar de familie genoemd:Moulin Albert. Hoewel niet meer als molen in bedrijf, heeft het bouwwerk tot 1961 bestaan,toen het, samen met een zestal woningen en een toevallig passerende autobus van de aardbodem werd weggevaagd door een onverwacht op drift geraarkte sintelberg uit de omgeving, die door hevige regenval aan het schuiven was geraakt.
