Blijkens de Studenten-Almanak voor 1841 woonden er ten tijde van deze schets drie studenten bij hem op kamers. Waarom dezen ergens anders dan in Plaats Royaal hun promotie zouden moeten vieren, is niet duidelijk. Mogelijk doelt Klikspaan op het feit dat Hendriks vader, Dirk Hoogenstraaten (1747-1827), eigenaar was geweest van een café aan de Vismarkt, waar eveneens promotiepartijen werden gehouden.
