Bombardement op de Roerdammen 16-17 mei 1943
Gezien zijn overlijden in het ziekenhuis in Neheim-Hüsten is Wilhelmus Aalbers, zoon van Hendrikus Hermanus Aalbers (*1862-†1936) en Maria Theodora van Kampen (*1863-†1932), waarschijnlijk een van de zwaargewonde slachtoffers van het bombardement op de Roerdammen (16-17 mei 1943), waarbij veel Nederlandse (dwang)arbeiders of onmiddellijk verdronken of zwaargewond later in een ziekenhuis overleden. Volgens zijn Sterbeurkunde (d.d. Neheim-Hüsten 1 april '46) was de doodsoorzaak: "allgemeiner Kräfteverfall" en woonde hij in Sundern(Sauerland). Zijn overlijden werd in Nijmegen ingeschreven. Zijn naam staat vermeld op de gedenksteen op het Nederlands Ereveld in Düsseldorf.
