De molen is gebouwd in 1840/50. De molen is afgebrand in oktober 1904 door blikseminslag. Willem heeft een aanvraag ingediend om de verbrande molen te kunnen verbouwen. Willem ging uit liefhebberij amaryllis kweken, hij nam 300 amaryllis bollen mee van Otto Thalecker uit Leipzig.Hij heeft samen met zijn zoon Cornelis en zijn stiefzoon Abraham Burgersdijk op 28-3-1903 een vennootschap opgericht, fa "W. Warmenhovenen Zonen", bloemisterij te Hillegom (adv.Hillegomse Courant 5-4-1903).

Acte-nr 6431, 22-7-1878: Willem Warmenhoven, Korenmolenaar, en Neeltje van Staalduinen, wed.v. Cornelis Johannes Burgersdijk, won. Hillegom, verklaren schuldig te zijn aan Herman Gerard Maes, Medicinaedoctor, won. Arnhem, voor 5000 gulden, t.b.v. een windkorenmolen met woning, verdere aanhoorigheden en erf, alsmede twee percelen wei- en bouwland, staande en gelegen in de gemeente Hillegom in den Vosse en Weerlanerpolder, bij het Kadaster bekend in Sectie B, nrs 453, 908, 961,962, 963 en 964, tezamen groot een hectare 60 aren 70 centiaren.
