Het echtpaar kreeg ook een tweeling, die kort na de geboorte overleed.
Op 3-2-1923 vertrekt het gezin met de Johann de Witt van de Stoomvaart Maatschappij Nederland naar Nederlandsch Oost-Indië en is succesvol in het hotelbedrijf.
In 1938 keert zoon JB met gezin terug tezamen met zijn ouders. De zoon begint een hotel te Soestdijk. De ouders gaan rentenieren.
