Anne Veenstra (13-03-1878/23-01-1964) en Truike Weening (19-07-1884/04-01-1976) woonden aan de Pauloane, waar nu pake- en beppesizzer Tamme Alma woont. Eens had de heer Veenstra een lekke band. Het was in de dertiger jaren. Ze werkten toen in de Wieringermeerpolder. Er moest op zaterdagmorgens nog gewerkt worden. Mijn oom Atze van der Ploeg zei tegen Veenstra: "Jo kinne wol mei my ride." Oom was gehandicapt hij had een stijf been en moest met één been trappen. Hij was vroeger gevallen op het ijs van de Lieuwespoel en de operatie aan z'n knie was mislukt. Alle anderen die er ook bij waren en gezond van lijf en leden waren moesten zich diep schamen. Zij boden de heer Veenstra geen "lift" aan. Van de Wieringermeerpolder naar Harkema-Opeinde was een hele afstand van ongeveer 100 kilometer. Het maakte ook nog verschil waar je in de polder werkte.
