Notes about Emma Priscilla Abbott

Emma was married to Henry and her last name was Scattergood. She was born as Emma Pricilla Abbott in 1840 in Bedminster (also in Bristol). In 1851, aged 10, she was with her uncle, William Young, a fly proprietor (he owned and drove for hire a light weight fast carriage) and her aunt, Sarah Young was a dressmaker. Emma probably learned a good deal from her aunt as, by 1861 she was in Great Malvern, aged 20 and working as a dressmaker for Benjamin Bright, a barrister and his wife.
