Obituary Posted in The Kingston Whig Standard:

COOK, Ted (Edward) - British Royal Navy and Combined Operations veteran of WWII. Passed away, unexpectedly, at the Trillium Care Centre, Kingston, on Saturday, December 19, 2009, in his 87th year. He was a jockey, a boxer and a nurse. Predeceased by sisters and brothers-in-law Marie and Ken Wilson, Eileen and John Goodwin and Betty and George Harrington. Survived in England by sisters Rene (Pat Guest) and Peggy (Jim Gale), numerous nieces and great nieces; nephews and great nephews. Survived in Canada, by wife, Jerrylyn; daughters Gillian (Brian Harney), Joy Cooke (Bill Jackson), Sarah (Steve Rankin) and Elizabeth (Drew Dudgeon); Grand children, Carol (Broderick Nobes), Sean Harney, Mark Cooke (Andrea), Kaitlyn, William and James Rankin, Caden Dudgeon and four great grand-children. Special thanks to Dr's Nowak, McLellan, & Garland for their care and thoughts; and to the staff at Trillium who cared for him in his final days. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, Kingston, on Saturday, Jan 9th, (time to be announced in Saturday, January 2 paper), with a memorial service in their Chapel, followed by spirited sendoff at Sarah and Steve's home. Inurnment at Boyd's Cemetery, Shallow Lake, in April, 2010. As expressions of sympathy, the family asks that donations be made to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society.
