Passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, after a long battle with cancer on Friday, July 22, 2011. A Newfoundlander by birth, she was born on Ramea Island on the Southwest Coast of Newfoundland. Growing up in an Island fishing community turned her into a proud, strong, willful and independent mother and woman. During her lifetime she lived in a number of different communities, including Stephenville, Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto, Dunville, Wabush (Labrador), Grand Falls, Clarenville and Fredericton. Mom loved to read, write, garden, play Scrabble (on line) and especially loved her family.
