Sherren, Loretta (nee Keeping)

1933-2011

Passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, after a long battle with cancer on Friday, July 22, 2011. A Newfoundlander by birth, she was born on Ramea Island on the Southwest Coast of Newfoundland. Growing up in an Island fishing community turned her into a proud, strong, willful and independent mother and woman. During her lifetime she lived in a number of different communities, including Stephenville, Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto, Dunville, Wabush (Labrador), Grand Falls, Clarenville and Fredericton. Mom loved to read, write, garden, play Scrabble (on line) and especially loved her family.
Loretta is survived by son Keith (Nino) and grandchildren Galena Maria, Nicolai, Gregory and Joshua; son Ken and granddaughter Paige; son Reg (Pamela) and grandchildren Mitchell and Emma; daughter Christine Perron (Roger) and grandchildren Marc, Shane and Brady; daughter Jennifer DeGroot-Robichaud (Marc) and grandson Benjamin; she is also survived by sister Sue Tucker of Victoria, BC; brothers Percy Keeping (Lori) of Whitby, ON, Don Keeping (Joyce Parker) of Fredericton, NB; along with a great number of nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by us all. She was predeceased by her father, Frederick Keeping; mother, Evelyn Scott and her siblings, Vivian Cluett (Arthur), Clyde Keeping (Beulah), Martin Keeping, Eric Keeping, Launce Keeping (Alva), Aubrey Keeping (Lorette) and Gladys Lachance.

Funeral Service was held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Main Street on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 11 am with Canon Bill MacMullin officiating. Interment took place in the church cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances in Loretta´s memory may be made to the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church Building Fund or the charity of the donor´s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
