Obituary: Blaine A. Goff, 87 JULY 23, 1921-NOV. 12, 2008 RANSON, W.Va. - Blaine A. Goff, 87, of Ranson and formerly of Jones Spring, W.Va., died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at his home. Born July 23, 1921, in Morgantown, W.Va., he was the son of the late Philip Hervie Goff and Bessie Shaw Goff. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma L. Sherren, in 1989. They were married April 16, 1941. He retired from Valley Quarry in Chambersburg, Pa., in 1993. He was a member of Jones Spring United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners, both of Martinsburg, W.Va. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, whom he married in March 1999; two daughters, Janet L. Butts of Jones Spring and Bonnie M. Goff of Alexandria, Va.; three stepsons, Ronald L. Woodford of Charles Town, W.Va., Robert J. Woodford of Inwood, W.Va., and Thomas J. Woodford of Mobile, Ala.; one brother, Ervin S. Goff of Independence, W.Va.; two granddaughters; four stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Rebecca Pattison; and two brothers, Ralph E. Goff and James C. Goff. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town. Dr. Wyman Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
