Margaret Mary Josephine Garland (nee Martin) had three brothers, two of whom emigrated, Joseph died in San Francisco at Laguna Honda Hospital, and is buried in the same plot in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colma SF, as Lil -Mary Elizabeth Garland. James the eldest brother was said by Fr. Joe Garland to have left Dublin after his father, William Martin died in 1912 and travelled to South America and then found his way to Canada or the USA.
