(Van) Santbergen Pancras Matteusz. van SANDBERGEN, Bouwman ,, christened 1622, died <26-5-1701. Pancras Matteusz. van Sandbergen has moved from Voorhout to Katwijk aan de Rijn. Why? As a minor boy, he probably followed his father. But when he returned to his birthplace before or in 1650, Pancras remained in Katwijk. It is known that he lived there in 1651 and 1656. Possible as a farmhand. But he didn't stay that way. Source: A.H.R., inr. No. 5230/32 Farmer In the morning books of Hoogheemraadschap Rijnland, Pancras becomes Matteusz. before 1660 under Katwijk aan de Rijn not mentioned. From that year for as owner or user of various plots of land. Until 1672 as "Banckeris Mattheusz."; then as Pancras Matteusez. Sandbergen. The latest notes date from the Tomorrow Book of 1696. In 1660 he used 3 dogs and 50 rods of Pieter van de Werve in the "Lack" and 2 dogs and 50 rods of the church in Katwijk aan Zee, also there. In 1664 he also owned (a) 2 morning and 2 dog land "on the western side of the Cleine Wateringe." He had taken this from the Commis Martini. He was also, together with Claes Cornelisz. van Berendrecht, owner of (b) 1 morning and 3 dog land, located behind the Mient. This too was previously owned by the Commis Martini. In 1672 he also owned 1 morning and 1 dog land, located on the other side of the Cleine Wateringe, from Jan Huijbertsz. Swanenburgh. In 1676, (c) 1 morning and 1 dog land had been added to the Ruijgelaan, coming from Cornelis Dircxsz. van Leeuwen. Claes Cornelisz. van Berendrecht was then no longer co-owner of the land behind the Mient. In 1684 he used 3 dog land on the Ruigelaan from the Convent (abbey) of Rijnsburg. In 1692 he no longer had this plot for rent. In that year he was the tenant of 2 pieces of land of resp. 5 dogs and 1 tomorrow, both located "alongside the Mient, from one Persijn. On the list of 1696 he is only listed as the owner of plots a, b, and c. In 1665 he had to contribute 5 pennies and in 1676 10 pennies. His increased wealth can be deduced from this. Source: N.A. Rijnsburg 7085, No. 54 and 55. On 22-01-1651, Leentgen Jeroens and Neeltgen Meussen, widow of Gerrit Matheusz, both from Katwijk aan de Rijn, declared to Notaris Willem Benninck, Rijnsburg, that their fellow countryman Pacras Teusz. had bought the house from Neeltgen Meussen. However, this house was neighbored by Claes Lenaertsz. The Katwijk court order testified, at the request of Pancars, that the neighbor had not paid the 40th token (transfer tax), so that his takeover of the purchase was not fair. Probably with Claes Lenaertsz. the husband of Huijbertje Mattheusdr. intended. The brothers-in-law have driven each other here! Source: R.A. Katwijk, inv. No 31. On 26-04-1688, Pancras was again the claimant in a neighboring case. Bastiaen Thomasz., In Katwijk aan de Rijn, apparently had bought an (unknown) movable property, to which Pancras claimed as a neighbor. The defendant stated that he wished to make the purchase "provided that the Naester had him fully to regulate after the comedy of Rhijnlant. Thus was sentenced. Son of Matteus Pietersz. DECKER (see II.3) and Grietje Gerrits. Married for the church on 27-01-1684 in Katwijk aan de Rijn (ZH) to Jannetje Jacobs van ROON, Dienstmaagd ,, died> 26-5-1701.
