    Oarndjan en Mina zijn begraven op de Algemene begraafplaats aan de Langestraat te Delden. De beide beukenbomen bij de ingang (zie foto) zijn ongeveer 2005 gekapt. Ze waren omstreeks 250 jaar oud.

Het voorgenomen huwelijk van Arend Jan Brinkatte en Hermina Overbeek werd afgekondigd op zondagen 12 en 19 oktober 1902.
De ouders van de bruidegom en de vader van de bruid waren aanwezig en gaven hun toestemming tot dit huwelijk; de moeder van de bruid was overleden.
Getuigen bij het huwelijk waren Waander ter Doest, oud 69 jaar, Gerrit Jan ter Boo, oud 53 jaar, Gerrit Lamers, oud 41 jaar en Jan Hesselink, oud 36 jaar, allen landbouwers wonende in de gemeente Hengelo, Hesselink in Oele, de andere drie in Woolde.
Getuige ter Doest verklaarde in het schrijven onervaren te zijn.
De bruid verklaarde onder aanbod van een eed dat met Wilhelmina Busschers en Wilhelmina Busscher, aldus verschillend in de overgelegde stukken voorkomende, dezelfde persoon wordt bedoeld en wel haar moeder.
Merkwaardig is dat bij de huwelijken van haar broers, die ongetwijfeld dezelfde stukken hebben moeten overleggen, hier niet moeilijk over gedaan wordt. Het komt zelfs niet ter sprake.

Notes about Arend Jan "Oarndjan" Brinkatte

Oarndjan was een man die zeer snel zeer boos kon worden. Vooral als iets niet opgeruimd was, want hij was erg secuur en verwachtte dat ook van anderen. Op latere leeftijd daarentegen was hij zeer berustend. Toen hij met maagkanker te bed lag, geplaagd door hevige pijnen, atwoordde hij op de vraag “"ho geet ter noe met , opa"” met de volgende anecdote: "Toen ik nog een kind was stond er aan de “Schooiersdiek*” een woonwagen. De man van het gezin dat er in woonde, verdiende de kost met allerlei karweitjes bij de boeren in de omgeving. Zo repareerde hij o.a. lekke koffiekannen door er een plaatje onder te solderen. Op dat plaatje stond de tekst: “Weest tevreden met Uw lot"”.

*De Schooiersdiek was een onbenaamde zandweg tussen de Deldenerstraat en de Oude Deldenerweg. Nu is het een deel van de Brugginksweg en geasfalteerd. Omdat het vroeger een geliefde plaats was voor rondtrekkende woonwagenbewoners stond er regelmatig (illegaal) een woonwagen. De bewoners gingen dan de buurt in om te klussen (stoelenmatten, scharenslijpen, enz.) of om te bedelen (schooieren). Vandaar de naam Schooiersdiek.

Nationale Militie:
De Commissaris der Koningin in de provincie Overijssel verklaart dat Arend Jan Brinkatte, geboren op 25 Februari 1873, bij de loting voor de lichting der nationale militie van het jaar 1893 voor de gemeente Hengelo is ten deel gevallen nr. 84, dat buiten oproeping gebleven zijnde, hem tot geen dienst heeft verplicht.
