Elzie Williams Taken By Death; Rites Wednesday

Elzie Williams, 49, of Route 1, Adel, died early Sunday morning in Cook County Hospital following an illness of six months.

He had resided in Moultrie most of his life, having moved to Adel five months ago.

Services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Omega Church of God with interment in Lakeview cemetery.

The Rev. Edward Wells will officiate.

His body will lie in state at Henderson's Funeral Home until placed in the family residence on Tuesday.

Mr. Williams was born July 28, 1925, in Cook County, the son of the late Jack Williams and the late Mrs. Sarah Thornton.

He was employed at the county farm in Adel and was a member of the Church of God denomination.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Elzie Williams of Adel; three sons, Ervin Williams and Paul Williams, both of Route 1 Omega and Jimmy Williams of Ellenton; five daughters, Barbara Williams, Martha Williams, Gloria Williams and Angela Williams, all of Adel, and Mrs. Mary McMurphy of Route 1, Omega; three brothers, Henry Williams of Berlin, Gordon Williams of Pitts and Isom Williams of Adel; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Mae Spires of Norman Park and Mrs. Ethel Mae Holton of Lake Park; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
