Notes about Johannes Custers

Said to have immigrated from Wales dates unknown as well as his parents (see notes below).

Married 22 May 1701 (or July) in Montgomery, PA to Mary Cassel (Castle). The U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900/ and US Quaker Records, Abington MM. Mary immigrated from Kresheiman, Palatinate Germany in 1686, the age of 8y. Her parents were Johannes Cassel (1639-1691) and Mary Graeff (1643-1738) resided in Germantown, PA.

John & Mary's son; Benjamin Cadwallader (1749-1834) m. Grace Comly.
* at this time, no verifiable records on others.

John was a minister and traveled to many places, including twice to England.
His tribute (testimony) given at Abington MM after his death on 2-5-1745 & 5-26-1746:

A certificate granted to John Cadwallader to travel in the Service of Truth in Tortola or elsewhere in West Indies, and our friend John Cadwallader having proceeded in a voyage to the Island of Tortola; landed on said island on the 8th of 9 mo, 1743, and being taken indisposed of the flux sometime before he landed, his distemper continuing upon him. He departed this life on the 26th of the said month in great peace where he was buried, as appears from the account sent hither by our friend John Pickering, Gov of Island.

John died at age 65 years.

* very possible he married a second time, difficult to follow handwriting from Philadelphia MM, as the marriage was "declined". A few months later (1732); John C listed on the index as a member of Abington MM, with spouse listed as Elizabeth Hinkson. No other records found.

Comments on John C Immigration from Wales:
COMLY Genealogy advised not to confuse him with John C who came in 1697 to Radnor PA w cert from Pembrokeshire, England. (age 19). With that; unlikely his parents were John Cadwallader (1650-1742) m. Sarah Roberts (1650-1737) all associated with Radnor, P
