Notes about Osbert (Osbern) Giffard, Lord of Brimpsfield I

Before 1096 Elis I had succeeded his father Osbern Giffard, the Domesday tenant of Brimpsfield, Stoke, Rockhampton, Elston, Orcheston, etc. [Complete Peerage V:639 note (c)]ollowing post-em from Mike Lysell, mlysell@@comcast.net, (which I believe Mike posted under the wrong Osbern), shows who one source has for Osbern's father (I have changed to agree with Mike's source):ut 1040 and a date of death as "by 1095". He states ?the Lord of Brimsfield, Gloucestershire, he was a Domesday tenent there in 1086 as well as in Stoke, Rockinghamshire, Elston and Orcheston [CP, 5:639c]..
