    n het VOC archief komt ene Jan Jorisz. van der Beukel voor uitNaaldwijk, die als matroos op het schip "Wickenburg" uitvoer op10-02-1724 met als bestemming Batavia. (Inv.nr. 12836, Kamer: Zeelandfolio 103, DAS- en reisnr. 2576.1, aankomst 02-09-1724. De verbintenisis door overlijden in Azie be-eindigd op 30-11-1725. Hij had in zijnverbintenis een Schuldbrief (Een werknemer van de VOC kon eenschuldbrief/obligatie ondertekenen tot maximaal 300 gld, afhankelijk vande rang. De schuldbrief was veelal op naam gesteld, maar overdraagbaaren werd aan de toonder uitbetaald. Bij onvoldoende saldo werd detransportbrief bij voorrang voldaan, na de maandbrief. In het soldijboekwordt alleen vermeld dat er een schuldbrief is en ook de terugbetaling,voor zover dat gebeurd is).
