Notes about Pieter WITTE Lzn
Nickname Nero. As orphan he was fostered on the farm of Machiel
Pieterzn Menknecht and Leentje Cornelisdr Houteschee.
Legally Pieter and Trijntje could not get married and were summoned
in court. In 1670 they tried to get permission once more by seeing
Bailiff Venhuisen, paid him fl 130.00, while Pieter also laboured
three days threshing buckwheat for free for Sherrif (Schout) Bout. As
a result Pieter was not banned.
