Notes about Hendrik Bröker

According to the 1839 Census at that time he was 22 and employed by a farmer Johannes Visser in the WASSENAARSE POLDER. In 1839 he was the only Broker living in Ter Aar. The rest of his family had left for other places. (RE. Letter of H.J.A Esveld. Exhibit)

In February 1851, on the birth declaration of his son "Maarten Bröker", he declared his age as 3 years younger. Why? I have not found an explainable answer. And from then on all records found sofar he was 3 years younger than he actually was. Hopefully I will find his death registration which could shed further light on this matter.
