    LINCOLN - Elaine J. Carlow, 79, loving wife of Alvin L. Carlow, died unexpectedly June 8, 2007, at Penobscot Valley Hospital, Lincoln. She was born April 26, 1928, in Lincoln, the daughter of Raymond and Alice (Doore) McCormick. Elaine married Alvin Carlow, June 21, 1946, in Lincoln and lived and worked there all her life. She worked for many years at the old Gulesian’s Hospital. “Auntie,” as she was known to everyone, leaves behind two daughters, Cherrie Martin and her husband, Gary and Candace Munson and her husband, Stanley, all of Springfield; five grandchildren, Lisa, Dawn, Stephen, Joshua and Matthew; eight great-grand-children, Brad, Emily, Jennifer, Brandon, Caleb, Zakery, Ashley and Hannah; a very special sister, Donna, who lived with Elaine and Alvin for 40 years; sisters, Colleen of Lincoln and Iris of Banks, Ore.; and a brother, Spurgeon of Chester; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin; grandson, Chad and great-grand-daughter, Brittany. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the United Methodist Church of Lincoln with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Young officiating. Private interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery. As Elaine was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, in lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the church. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
