Mrs. Diana LaFave, age 86, of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Robinswood Assisted Living Center. She was born March 5, 1929 in Grand Haven to Herbert “Corky” and Emma (Clark) Fase. She married Earl LaFave and he preceded her in death on July 6, 1970.
Diana was a charter member of the Women's auxiliary, a proud member of the Women's Drill Team, having performed in our local Memorial and Coast Guard parades, as well as competed in regional and state wide Drill team competitions. She was President of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Women's Auxiliary 4 times, Chaplain, received their prestigious Mother of the Year Award, was named to the FOE State of Michigan Hall of Fame, and helped on numerous projects over many years. She was also in the chorus of the Elk's Minstrel show for 23 yrs. She enjoyed assisting with the March of Dimes campaigns as well. Most of all she loved her family and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by four children: David (Nancy) Parsons, Michael LaFave, Earl (Jeri) LaFave, all of Grand Haven, and Arthur (Laura) LaFave of Coopersville; eight grandchildren: Erik and Emily Parsons, Lyn Marie LaFave (Robert Stephens), and Hannah LaFave, Justin and Alexis LaFave, Joe and Andrew Bowen; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Elizabeth Stephens. She is also survived by two brothers: Peter (Carmella) Fase, Herbert B. (Marcella) Fase and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her only daughter, Gerri Lynn Parsons; eldest son, James Parsons; first husband, Fay Parsons.
