Zij was een der eerste vrouwelijke journalisten, die in de vorige eeuw toetraden tot den toen nog jongen Nederlandschen Journalistenkring, waarvan zij in die jaren de vergaderingen getrouw bijwoonde en aan de beraadslagingen ijverig deelnam. Het was in haar Amersfoortschen tijd, toen Suze van Cleeff de Amersf. Ct. redigeerde. Van de gezellige bijeenkomsten van den Kring was zij vele jaren een door haar geestvolle gesprekken welkome verschijning. De oudere tijdgenooten zullen zich haar kleine, pittige figuur, haar levendig discours en haar beminnelijken omgang nog wel zeer goed herinneren.


Op journalistiek gebied was mevr. Frederiks een verdienstelijke arbeidster, ook later na haar huwelijk met den heer P. J. Frederiks aan de Avondpost. Vooral de oudere leden van den Journalistenkring zullen Suze van Cleeff blijven gedenken als een collega, die bij bestuur en leden in hooge achting stond.
