Johannes leende 11 juni 1788 van Jan Alberts Steenbergen op Zuidwolde, 1050 Carolus gulden voor de aanbetaling van "het aangekogte plaatsje met syn getimmerte"en hij leende mei 1790 van Pieter Bruins-Sloth 1100 Carolus gulden met "syn plaatse by hem bewoont"als onderpand (Warner Warners de Jonge stond borg voor de helft). In 1794 had Jannes een heel oude praam; hij kon toen het volle haardstedegeld niet betalen.
