Notes about Hendericus Wijnbeek

Henricus Wijnbeek begon zijn carrière in het onderwijs. Vervolgens is hij gaan studeren aan de Universiteit van Leiden. In 1808 was hij meester in de rechten. In 1808 werd hij tevens gouverneur van de 14 jarige Gerrit Schimmelpenninck. Hij reisde o.a. naar Parijs.

Van 1814-1816 was hij directeur van de Nederlandse staatcourant.

In 1816 inspecteur van de Latijnse scholen en in 1832 hoofdinspecteur van het middelbaar en lager onderwijs.

Henricus is schrijver van de handleiding tot het onderwijs der Nederduitsche taal voor de eerst beginnende leerlingen op Athanaea.

Henricus is geridderd in de orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw.
