Louis de Bolster (1897) werd eind juni 1941 gearresteerd wegens zijn functies in en activiteiten voor de Revolutionair Socialistische Arbeiderspartij (RSAP) van Henk Sneevliet. Al in 1931 stond hij nummer 4 op de kieslijst voor de provinciale staten van de Revolutionair Socialistische Partij (RSP) en een jaar later op nummer 9 van de lijst van de RSAP. De Bolster was ook betrokken bij de plaatselijke afdeling van de kleine linkse vakbond Nationaal Arbeidssecretariaat (NAS). In 1932 was De Bolster secretaris en in 1934 voorzitter van het Plaatselijk Arbeidssecretariaat. Louis de Bolster stierf als enige niet-Joodse inwoner van Leiden in KZ Auschwitz op 4 december 1942. Hij werd vergast. Auschwitz was niet louter een vernietigingskamp, maar ook een concentratiekamp waar dwangarbeid werd verricht. Zijn naam staat vermeld op het (oorlogs)monument De Naald.
