Op 22 februari 1944 om 12.30 uur kwam er op het politiebureau een telefoontje binnen van een zeker Ritsema van de Haagse Documentatiedienst met het verzoek Jacobus van der Burgh (1904) en zijn vrouw te arresteren wegens jodenbegunstiging. Rond vijfuur ’s middags werd Van der Burgh daadwerkelijk opgepakt en anderhalf uur later door een Haagse rechercheur opgehaald. Zijn arrestatie hang waarschijnlijk samen met die van de politieman Jacobus Vente. Ze werden beschuldigd van “jodenbegunstiging”.
Van der Burgh was opticien. Hij overleefde de oorlog en overleed in 1970.

Elisabeth (1902-1980) bleef kennelijk buiten schot. Zij was een zus van Kunnette van den Berg-Anneeze die een Joods kind in huis heeft gehad.
