Madrid is a town in St. Lawrence County, New York, United States. The population was 1,735 at the 2010 census. The town is named after Madrid in Spain. It is pronounced 'MAD-DRID' by the local community. The Town of Madrid is in the northern part of the county, north of Canton. Madrid-Waddington Central School serves the town of Madrid, but outside the population center.
