Stadtroda (Roda until 1925) is a town of 6,293 people, located in Thuringia, Germany. Stadtroda lies on the Roda river, a tributary of the Saale. According to some sources, Faust was born in Roda in 1480. The house where he was born was torn down and sold to Chicago in 1896, where it was going to be shown in the Germany-Hall of the World's Fair.
