Heerewaarden is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 8 km south of Tiel. Heerewaarden was a separate municipality until 1999, except for a short period between 1818 and 1821, when it was part of Rossum. In 2001, the village of Heerewaarden had 980 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.28 km², and contained 417 residences. The statistical area "Heerewaarden", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 1250.
