Môtiers was a municipality in the district of Val-de-Travers in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. On 1 January 2009, the former municipalities of Boveresse, Buttes, Couvet, Fleurier, Les Bayards, Môtiers, Noiraigue, Saint-Sulpice and Travers merged to form Val-de-Travers. The old castle, dating in part from the 14th century, stands on a rock sput between Val de Travers and the Bied valley. Today the property of the canton of Neuchâtel, it is occasionally used to host cultural events. Before January 1, 2009, Môtier used to be the capital of the Val-De-Travers until it was merged in start of 2009
