Beaconsfield Listen/ˈbɛkənzfiːld/ is a market town and civil parish operating as a town council within the South Bucks district in Buckinghamshire, England. It lies 23.6 miles northwest of Charing Cross in Central London, and 17 miles south-east of the county town of Aylesbury. Other nearby towns include Amersham to the north northeast and High Wycombe to the west. The town sits in the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is part of the London commuter belt, thus the average cost of housing in the town is very high. It is in the South Bucks local government district, which was known as the Beaconsfield district from 1974 to 1980.
