Haxey is a village and civil parish within North Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 21.7 miles to the northwest of the city of Lincoln and in 2001 had a total resident population of 4,359. The village of Haxey lies between the villages of Westwoodside and Owston Ferry, forms part of the Isle of Axholme, and is perhaps most notable for Haxey Hood; a local event with over 700 years of history, reputedly making it the United Kingdom's oldest "traditional tussle".
