Rusholme is now a suburban locality in Manchester, England, about two miles south of the city centre. It has a large student population, with several student halls and many students renting privately. Most of the housing consists of terraced houses, around 70–100 years old, with larger houses located towards the Victoria Park district. Wilmslow Road is the major thoroughfare through the area. In the south-west there is a large public park, Platt Fields Park, featuring a large pleasure lake and Platt Hall.
