Records from Rungsted

Rungsted is a neighborhood in the city of Hørsholm in the Hørsholm Municipality of Øresund, north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The center of Hørsholm is located two kilometers west of Rungsted. At the Sound coast is Rungsted Harbour, a marina. Author Johannes Ewald lived from March 1773 to autumn 1775 at the then Rungsted Inn, where he had some of his most productive years and wrote Rungsteds Lyksaligheder - En Ode. The inn moved in 1803, and the buildings were renamed Rungstedlund. In 1931 when Karen Blixen returned to Denmark from Africa, she moved into Rungstedlund (which her father Wilhelm had acquired in 1879), and lived there until her death in 1962 .
