Smith mother-in-law, since he married Mary Taylor Schwartz, dau of William Schwartz and Agnes) The following children of Agnes were sealed to them on the same date, John Taylor Rich (proxy), James Taylor Rich (proxy), Elizabeth Taylor Rich (proxy), Joseph Taylor Hoagland (proxy), Sarah Taylor Hoagland (proxy), Abrahm Taylor Hoagland (living), Edward Taylor Hoagland (living), Harriet Schwartz (proxy) and Mary Taylor Schwartz (living). Also on 20 Aug 1969 Slake the following children were sealed by proxy to Joseph Smith and Agnes, Samuel Taylor Rich and Agnes Taylor Hoagland. SUMMARY: Agnes was married four times. [#1] John Rich, they had four children. Records indicate that they were divorced. The reason is unknown, John Rich died 1863 in California. Agnes married [#2] John Benbow in 1846 at Nauvoo. Agnes married [#3]Abraham Lucas Hoagland in 1847, they had five children, the ordinance index states that Abraham and Agnes were sealed 22 Apr 1856 EH, this sealing occurred after all their children were born. There must have been a divorce from her third marriage because she married again in 1862 and Abraham did not die until 1872. Agnes married [#4] William Schwartz in 1863, (he was 16 years younger than Agnes) they had two children Harriet and Mary?? see census below. William married again in 1873 and moves to Mesa, Arizona where he raised his second family and died there. The 1880 Census FHL#1255337 pg 88B: Lists Agnes T. Schwartz age 58; Mary Schwartz dau age 15; Abrham H. Schwartz son age 30; Ellen schwartz, Wife age 25; Agnes Schwartz dau age 7 and Schwartz male 1M.
