· Theodorus Marlet *

TheodorusMarlet (also written Theodore Marlett, Malott, and Melott), the son of JeanPierre Marlet and Marie Bellemain, was born on 27 January 1694 in NewYork. He was subsequently christened inthe Staten Island French Church, Richmond County, New York on 28 March1694. Theodorus later moved to MiddlesexCounty, New Jersey, where his name was found on a list of Middlesex Countymilitia members serving in the 4th Company under the command of Colonel ThomasFarmer in 1715.

Theodoruswas apparently married twice during his lifetime. He married first to a woman named CatherineMaple in New Jersey. Catherine Maple wasthe daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Maple. Although Catherine was mentioned in her father's will, which had beenwritten on 13 May 1727, she appears to have died in New Jersey shortlythereafter. Catherine Maple was themother of three children by Theodorus.
