    "Hier wordt in 1927 het voltallige bestuur met de wijkverpleegsters van het Wit-Gele Kruis in het Pastoorsbos op de foto gezet. Zittend, van links naar rechts zien we: M. Soestbergen, hoofd van de rooms-katholieke lagere school; Jan Waaser, vervener en café-houder aan het Scholtenskanaal; pastoor Bergervoet, tevens bouwpastoor van de rooms-katholieke kerk, de rooms-katholieke school en het rooms-katholiek verenigingsgebouw, thans (1991) de Collink, kapelaan Oderkerk en Hendrik Linnemann.
    Staande: zuster Seemann en zuster van Lunteren. De man in het midden is waarschijnlijk een lid van het hoofdbestuur geweest.
    De oprichting van het Wit-Gele Kruis en de komst van deskundige wijkverpleegsters zijn een zegen voor ons dorp geweest. Na de oprichting in 1924 daalde het hoge sterftecijfer onder kinderen beneden de tien jaar in vijf jaar tijd met 60%!
    Alsnog grote dank en waardering voor de initiatiefnemers van weleer!"
