Hartog Abrahamswas born in Rijssen, Overijssel in abt. 1726.

According to the Census, taken between 21 and 31 October 1795

in the twelve "districts" of the town, he was a butcher and

his family counted 8 members at the time.

According toother documents they lived at No. 69, Rijssen.

His name appears in several legal documents of that period in

Rijssen. In April 1794 he appeared before an "emergency tribunal"

claiming that because of his age and progressive physical weak-

ness, and due to the fact that he did not have any merchandise

left and his shop was ruined, he was unable to make a living

and that he therefor made an agreement with his son Joel that

this son might, at the house of Hartog Abrahams, buy and sell any

merchandise for his own account, on the condition that he would

support his parents for the rest of their lives.

Hartog Abrahams then continued living for an other 19 years!
